A New Engineering College

The Zhejiang University-University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (ZJUI) is a new engineering college on the Zhejiang University (ZJU) International Campus in Haining, China, about 120 km southwest of Shanghai. ZJU-UIUC Institute faculty teach and research in broad program themes of engineering and system sciences; information and data sciences; and energy, environment, and infrastructure sciences.

The ZJU-UIUC Institute leverages the brand new ZJU International Campus and creates a unique student experience of cross-disciplinary collaboration, technical leadership, teamwork, and creative excellence. Undergraduate degree programs are offered in civil and environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and computer engineering that mirror the degree programs offered at UIUC. All courses are offered in English.

Opportunities

Opportunities exist to apply to join the faculty at ZJUI and for University of Illinois faculty to teach at ZJUI.

ZJUI students have the opportunity to earn degrees on the international campus. Students at UIUC have the opportunity to spend a semester studying on the ZJU International Campus.
